Get to Know the 2022 QX55 Trim Levels

Chiseled body lines and an athletic stance highlight the capability and performance of the all-new 2022 INFINITI QX55. A true crossover in every sense, the new QX55 offers the perfect balance of luxury, utility, and driving pleasure. This year’s QX55 comes in a choice of three trims – Luxe AWD, Essential AWD, and Sensory AWD. As their titles suggest, all models feature all-wheel drive, as well a continuously variable transmission, and a powerful 268 horsepower engine. The entry Luxe trim is anything but basic and comes with more features than many of its competitors far more expensive offerings. As expected, moving up to the Essential AWD model adds a variety of niceties, or in some cases, swaps something for something even better. The same goes for the top-of-the-line Sensory trim. INFINITI suggests a starting price of $46,500 for Luxe AWD models, $51,600 for Essential AWD models, and $57,050 for Sensory trims. Here’s a rundown on each: 

The 2022 INFINITI QX55 Luxe AWD

As promised, the new INFINITI Luxe AWD comes with lots and lots of standard features. Here’s a breakdown of some of the more notable amenities found on this year’s Luxe model:

Exterior – All models come with Automatic on/off LED headlights with signature daytime running lights and integrated LED front fog lights. 

Interior – Standard interior features found on Luxe trims include dual-zone automatic temperature control, leatherette upholstery, and 8-way, power-adjustable front seats with 2-way lumbar support.

Technology – Advanced technology comes standard on the new QX55 with all models getting INFINITI’s Intelligent Key with Illuminated Push Button Ignition, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Active Noise Cancellation, and Active Sound Enhancement.

Safety – Along with a wealth of traditional passive safety items such as INFINITI’s Advanced Air Bag System, all QX55 models also come with Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and a range of other advanced driver-assist technologies. 

Mechanical – All new 2022 INFINITI QX55 editions come standard with a 2.0L VC-Turbo 4-cylinder engine linked to a Continuously Variable Transmission with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. A combination of MacPherson struts with coil springs over shock absorbers in the front, and a multi-link stabilizer bar in the rear deliver enhanced ride quality for all models, as well.

The 2022 INFINITI QX55 Essential AWD

Going up to the Essential trim adds a whole list of goodies that many luxury buyers will find “essential.”

Exterior – Notable exterior additions to the INFINITI QX55 Essential trim include reverse tilt-down outside mirrors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and front parking sensors. 

Interior – An Around-View monitor, leather-appointed seating, and climate-controlled front seats are just a few of many interior upgrades for the QX55’s middle trim.

Technology – Essential models also get a nice bump in the infotainment department with the addition of a 16-speaker, Bose Performance Series Premium Audio System, factory-installed navigation, and integrated satellite radio (which includes a free 3-month trial).

Safety – Three driver-assist features become available through several different packages at the mid-level – Blind Spot Intervention, Lane Departure Prevention, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Mechanical – Essential buyers enjoy the option to add Direct Adaptive Steering.

The 2022 INFINITI QX55 Sensory AWD

As expected, little gets left behind on QX55 Sensory editions. Here’s a look:

Exterior – Along with a motion-activated liftgate, 2022 INFINITI QX55 Sensory trims also get an adaptive front lighting system and cube design LED headlights with auto-leveling. 

Interior – Interior upgrades include Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control, enhanced interior ambient lighting, semi-aniline leather-appointed seating, and black, natural, Maple wood interior trim accents

Technology – QX55 Sensory models also get numerous additions in the tech category which include a Head-Up Display, Advanced Climate Control, and INFINITI’s ProPILOT Assist. The ProPILOT Assist system employs Steering Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control with Full-Speed Range and Stop and Hold to keep vehicle occupants safe and comfortable on long road trips. 

Safety – Blind Spot Intervention, Lane Departure Prevention, and Traffic Sign Recognition all come standard on 2022 INFINITI QX55 Sensory models. 

Mechanical – Direct Adaptive Steering comes on all 2022 INFINITI QX55 Sensory editions.

All in all, regardless of trim level, the 2022 INFINITI QX55 AWD offers buyers tremendous bang for their buck. All models come well equipped at MSRPs that won’t break the bank.
